Argho Sarkar
Worked in SETI Institute as a Summer Research Fellow. The project was funded by Department of Energy (DOE).
The main objective was to ”Leverage synthetic (CGI) images to train object detection and image classification models for monitoring the containers carrying uranium hexafluoride (UF6) in an authorized nuclear facility to increase nuclear safeguards and capabilities”. YOLOV8 is considered for object detection and Vision Transformer (ViT), and Masked Autoencoder (MAE) are considered for the image classification model. By implementing these state-of-the-art algorithms, we minimized the performance gap between training synthetic and testing on real data by 30%.
